Meet Our Team
Terry Dubroy
Founder and CEO of Thrive
Terry is a loving father, husband, outdoors enthusiast, Ontario Certified Teacher, author, and natural leader. He has logged over 3500 kilometers between canoes and kayaks, through which many of his teachings and stories are inspired by. His passion to motivate, inspire, and challenge people's perceived limitations began over thirty years ago as a humble wilderness guide in Algonquin Park. Experience as an owner and operator of an outdoor adventure and leadership training company, as well as facilitating many diverse and innovative leadership programs for educators and business leaders, have been extremely valuable in teaching Terry many important lessons about leadership, trust, teamwork, commitment, innovation, authenticity, happiness, and love – all of which he embodies and imparts to everyone around him. At conferences, guest appearances, lectures, and program facilitation his listeners have often described him as a passionate and engaging storyteller who leaves his participants inspired, invigorated, and ready to challenge their comfort zones. Thrive is the culmination of Terry’s work and life experiences.
Jillian-Rae Picco
Content Architect
Jillian-Rae’s vision in life is to help individuals self-discover, heal, and thrive through the art of writing. She is the recipient of an Honours Degree with Distinction in English Studies, the author of four books in nonfiction and poetry genres, and the architect behind Thrive’s Walking the High Road book series. Her literary works, creative projects, workshops, and speaking engagements dive wholeheartedly into a meaningful range of themes for finding personal fulfillment, from self-growth and shadow work to divine feminine wisdom. With an unlimited passion for lifelong learning guiding her, she is also pursuing her second Honours Degree in Psychology and studying with YogaRenew to become a certified RYT-200 Yoga Instructor. At her core, Jill is an advocate, old soul, and thinking introvert whose work serves as a catalyst for people to unearth their inner truths, explore their next steps, and bravely immerse themselves in their heart and soul center. Abbey Laferriere
Creative Director
Abbey is at her best when she is challenged and inspired to dream up and execute great ideas while taking on the roles of leader, problem-solver, developer, producer, and more. Her ambition and imagination are displayed through her creative direction in a variety of multi-media art areas such as illustration, photography, film, and graphic design. Her creative process is guided by the belief that intuitive and purposeful design can inspire ways to allow connections to form between intentions and reality. Abbey is passionate about finding ways to display the core messages of Thrive through artistic forms from both a logical and creative perspective; her goal is to create art that is insightful and beautiful, but also to have others connect with and be inspired by it. She excels in crafting work for clients, ensuring that it not only meets their needs but also leaves a lasting impact. Overall, Abbey creates work she loves and aims to inspire others to do the same.
